Pioneer Ranch & Living History Museum
is
located just off the I-17 freeway just
30 minutes
north of downtown Phoenix,
Arizona, one mile
north of Carefree
Highway … but don’t let the
proximity to
the city fool you. Everything about
Pioneer
Ranch is as wild and western as it can
be.
Pioneer Ranch and Living History Museum
is
comprised of 90 acres of rugged western
land in the Sonoran desert and offers
a
memorable taste of frontier history spiced with
just the right amount of old
fashioned
cowboy fun.
The main attraction at Pioneer Ranch is the authentic 1800’s town.
Travel
back in time as you wander the streets and meet costumed
interpreters
portraying cowboys, lawmen, and lovely Victorian ladies
from the days of Arizona’s Wild West. Step inside actual historic
buildings over a century
old as well as many realistic and accurate
reproductions of structures from
the era of Arizona’s Old West. See
the Opera House where Lilly Langtry
sang; look through a rifle port
in an actual cabin that survived Arizona’s
bloodiest range war; laugh
your way through a “melodrama” at the theatre;
or browse an 1890’s
dress shop. Also in the town, you’ll find a working blacksmith’s shop,
a sheriff's office and jail, a variety of Wild West
entertainment, and
Pioneer Restaurant which is open to the public
Wednesday through
Sunday weekly and features the best Friday night
Fish Fry in the
Valley.
So if you are looking for a quiet evening out or an exciting Wild
West
experience, from team building retreats and corporate BBQ’s
to group
field trips, guided horseback adventures and cattle drives,
Pioneer is the
place to get your hands on the history of the Old West.
